    Runway 02/20 Reopens

The Truckee Tahoe Airport District reopened Runway 02/20 after two weeks of intermittent closures to complete the final finishing touches (fog sealing and restriping) of last year’s reconstruction project. The 4,650’ long x 75’ wide runway is the smaller of the airport’s two runways. The $6.3M project was an FAA funded Airport Improvement Project (AIP). KTRK encourages pilots to use Runway 02 when able, as it is the preferred community-friendly quiet departure runway. Click post heading for pics.

    Farewell Mitchell

After 12 years of dedicated service, the Truckee Tahoe Airport District bids farewell to Mitchell Montgomery, who will be retiring later this month. Mitch has been the O&M Department's Facility Maintenance Manager extraordinaire. Mitch's knack for fixing things, reminiscent of MacGyver, has kept our operations running smoothly. He's not just handy with tools, but also with building strong relationships among airport staff and tenants. With gratitude and warm wishes, we say goodbye, knowing his legacy of excellence will endure. Best of luck in your retirement, Mitch! You'll be missed around here.  Click post heading for picture.
