Sustainable Aviation Fuel
KTRK - COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABLE AVIATION
KTRK is an early adopter of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Jet -A
We're the only airport in the U.S. to offer exclusively SAF
Our SAF prices are very competitive for SAF pricing; often Jet-A as well
The blend is 30% ‘neat SAF’ (biofuel) blended with 70% Jet-A (current industry standard)
This blend contributes to a 23% life-cycle carbon reduction per gallon compared to Jet-A
Let your owner, client, passengers know they’re reducing their flight's carbon footprint when purchasing SAF

➤ One Small Airport, One Big Impact - Sustainable Aviation Fuel at KTRK
KTRK SAF Update, Nov 21, 2022 - As part of its Sustainability and Greenhouse Gas Reduction programs, your Truckee Tahoe Airport District (TTAD) set a goal this past July '22 to increase the percentage of its JetA fuel from a 10% to 25% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) mix by year end. That 2022 goal has now been reached and even exceeded. SAF fuel is tested and certified for quality, and to ensure it meets stringent FAA mandated jet fuel standards. In its pure form SAF can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% compared to its petroleum-based jet fuel counterpart.
Availability permitting, TTAD in its 2023 budget is targeting a 75% SAF fuel mix by year end 2023. SAF does cost more than petroleum-based JetA. Today’s JetA price at TTAD is $8.37/gallon. TTAD forecasts approximately 700,000 gallons of JetA to be sold in 2022.
AVFuel the airport’s contracted fuel supplier states that "SAF is the most effective way to reduce a flight’s carbon footprint. It’s one more way to reach a business’ or airport’s sustainability goals and earn good will amongst stakeholders and communities."
