CIVIL AIR PATROL
CADETS - Meet every Thursday 6 - 8 PM
SENIORS - Meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Meetings are held at the Civil Air Patrol office in C-25 at the south end of the Charlie hangar row.
The Truckee Airport has it's own Civil Air Patrol, working to educate and inspire the next generation of pilots as well as train a volunteer base of search and rescue squads. The C.A.P. will be holding five "MISSION TO MARS" STEAM Camps in 2024. Each camp is limited to 12 children, 8-12 years of age. Camps cost $150 per child. EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION E.A.A. CHAPTER 1073
The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) is an organization of members with a wide range of aviation interests and backgrounds, dedicated to preserving flying of any kind. The EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8 thru 17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.
Summer months only. Join the EAA for their monthly Open House, Pancake Breakfast ($7.00 donation) and Young Eagles Rally for FREE youth flights on the second Saturday of each month from 8-10 am (weather permitting). The event is on-field at the EAA building,10356 Truckee Airport Rd., (follow the signs by the Fire station and enter at Gate #5).

FLIGHT INSTRUCTION AT KTRK
Flight Simulator - The Truckee Tahoe Airport District (TTAD) owns a Precision Flight Controls GTX flight simulator. It is equipped with a G1000 screen, can simulate single engine or twin engine aircraft flight and is FAA recognized to log Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) instruction/time. The flight simulator is available to use for free to local TTAD resident pilots/student pilots.
