Leigh Golden grew up in San Francisco, married his wife Ellen in 1987 and together raised their 20 year old son. The family decided to make a lifestyle change and moved to Truckee in 1998. Leigh started flying in 1975 and is a professional pilot with over 10,000 hrs. He has flown everything from a Cessna 150 to a Boeing 767. Leigh holds ATP (Airline Transport Pilot-Rating) and type ratings in aircraft such as Learjet, Boeing 757, Boeing 767, as well as a Flight Engineer rating turbojet in a DC-10. He is also a certified A&P (Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic ) and IA (Inspection Authorization). Leigh currently flies a King Air F90-1 out of Truckee. Leigh joined ACAT in 2012 to help insure that the Truckee Tahoe Airport is the best, safest and most user friendly airport that it can be. Leigh fully supports the airport’s community-outreach programs and looks forward to continuing to make a positive difference in the Truckee – North Tahoe communities.
