Multi-Agency SAR Training
Feb 07, 2022
Multi-Agency Search & Rescue day-time exercises will be held out of your Truckee Tahoe Airport, and around the Soda Springs and Truckee Tahoe Area the week of February 7th through the 11th, 2022. Local residents should expect to see intermittent day-time flight operations overhead of a C-130 and H47 helicopter along with skydiving activity.
The U.S. Forestry Service and the California National Guard, along with local Sheriff departments will be conducting a joint winter Search and Rescue (SAR) multi-agency training. The exercise will consist of parachute operations, cold weather ground movement, and helicopter and military transport aircraft operations. The winter SAR training is in direct coordination with first responder community and local law enforcement agencies.
This training provides California National Guardsmen the opportunity to train on advanced search and rescue capabilities as well as fostering vital relationships between state emergency response and life-saving personnel.
