Request for Fuels Reduction Contractor

The Truckee Tahoe Airport District (District) is looking to establish a 3-year contract with a contractor or a company for on-call fuels reduction on airport properties.

The required method of fuels reduction shall be mechanical mastication and hand work.

The District has multiple properties within the Truckee and Tahoe area that may need this work provided.

Ideal candidate will possess 10+ years of forest work skills and knowledge such as timber felling, hazardous tree removal as well as mechanical mastication and of trees and brush vegetation. Hand crew operation will need the ability to chip slash created along with some amount of lop and scatter, removal of material off site is also acceptable.

They must have in-depth knowledge of fuels reduction and fire mitigation along with the vegetation of the Sierra flora and fauna.

The District would be willing to divide work function into two different categories: hand work and mechanized mastication should we be unable to find a sole source contractor.

The District shall accept letters of interest for this contract until 5 pm April 1, 2024.
