Welcome Joe Lorenz to ACAT

May 24, 2019

KTRK welcomes its newest Airport Community Advisory Team (ACAT) member Joe Lorenz.  He was appointed to ACAT by the Truckee Tahoe Airport Board of Directors at their May 22, 2019 board meeting. Joe is picking up the "Pilot Member" position vacated mid-term by Paul Fast who's promotion and increased duties as a Brigadier General for the U.S. Air Force required him to step down.

Joe is a native of Napa, California. He and and his wife Mary left the Bay Area in 2017 and became full-time Truckee residents. With a bachelor’s degree in Geology and a Masters in Business Administration, Joe retired after 30 years as a government and public affairs professional.

Joe learned to fly as an Air Explorer Scout at the Napa Airport and soloed when he was sixteen. A year later, he earned his Private Pilot Certificate. Joe is currently working on his instrument rating through Sierra Aero and recently joined the Tahoe Flying Club. Through these most recent experiences, he’s grown to understand the responsibilities the pilot community in the Truckee area must take on to continue to operate safely while at the same time acting in the best interest of our neighbors. Joe is looking forward to being an active and contributing member of the ACAT team!

The Airport Board of Directors and staff would like to thank Paul Fast for his invaluable service and dedication to the Truckee Tahoe Airport District and our local community. For more information on Paul, please visit: ➤ Paul Fast Bio Page
