CAP 80th Anniversary Search & Rescue Event

The Tahoe Truckee Civil Air Patrol celebrated the National CAP's 80th anniversary with a multi agency search and rescue exercise. The event simulated an airplane crash in a mountainous area near Stampede Reservoir, approximately 10 miles north of the Truckee Tahoe Airport.
In total over four dozen volunteers in five counties participated in the successful search and rescue event, including three CAP units and their youth cadets, along with the Nevada County Sheriff Department's Search and Rescue Canine Trailing Team.
