Mr. Covey is Headed East

Feb 26, 2022

KTRK's MARK COVEY IS HEADED EAST! After over seven years at KTRK, our "Pilot & Passenger Outreach Coordinator" Mark Covey is relocating to Portland, Maine to serve as Airfield Maintenance Manager at Portland International Jetport (an FAA designated Part 139 Airport).

Mr. Covey started at KTRK in June 2014 as a seasonal Operations & Maintenance Technician. He was hired full-time shortly thereafter. During Mark's tenure, he served as Ramp Lead, then as Assistant Ops & Maintenance Supervisor, prior to being promoted in 2018 to Pilot & Passenger Outreach Coordinator. Mark enjoyed presenting to pilots at regional airports about flying to Truckee, spending time on the ramp explaining KTRK's safety protocols and noise abatement procedures to pilots, keeping the airport SnowDay page updated, along with just connecting with his aviation colleagues. Mark was also the go to guy with any questions about the airport's flight training simulator.

Mark earned his Private Pilot's License in 2016, his Instrument rating in 2019 and Commercial Pilot Certificate in 2020. Mark also earned Certified Member "C.M." status with the American Association of Airport Executives in 2021. Mark is an active Pilot who has also been a member of the Tahoe Flying Club.

Mark, his wife Andrea & their dog Zoey are excited for new adventures in Maine and Mark is ready for the challenge of maintaining a busy commercial small-hub airport.

He will be missed at KTRK! We wish Mr. Covey all the best and continued success in following his dreams in his aviation career!
