WILDFIRE HELI TACK CREW AT KTRK
Your Truckee Tahoe Airport supports regional wildfire fighting efforts and provides firefighting aircraft and crew staging and rest areas, command center facilities, and supplies aircraft services when needed. Pictured is a Sikorsky S61-A owned by Croman Corporation out of Oregon, and contracted by the USFS for fire season operations. The belly mounted tank holds up to 1,000 gallons of water for fire retardant drops.
