    KTRK Staff Works Together with Local CFI's to Mitigate Community Noise & Annoyance

    After hearing from District constituents in the Russell Valley area of Truckee about airplanes circling overhead, KTRK Aviation and Community Services Noise Department staff held a meeting with local Certified Flight Instructors (CFI’s) to discuss, among other things, alternative areas to practice flight maneuvers. Click heading for full story and pictures.

    KTRK Citation X Pictures Go Viral

    A Citation X (Cessna 750) executive jet parked on the ramp during Tuesday night's blizzard conditions ended up on its tail from heavy snows and high winds.  The airport does not have hangars large enough for this size aircraft.  The photos went viral on social media and were covered in both the National and International press.  Click heading to see the pictures.

    Red Beacons Going Green

    Your Truckee Tahoe Airport District maintains three Obstruction Beacons around Truckee's Martis Valley: Dry Lake, Alder Hill, and Bald Mtn. Airport staff is working with local solar contractors and Liberty Utilities to convert the beacon tower to solar power. Click on heading for more details.
