Twelve years ago, the Truckee Tahoe Airport sought ways to engage local youth. When they approached the Truckee's Civil Air Patrol (CAP) for assistance, Lt. Col. Ken Aronson, a dedicated CAP volunteer who was then commander of the Tahoe Truckee Squadron, immediately came to mind. Today, Ken and his wife, 2nd Lt. Walk into the Truckee Tahoe Airport’s main terminal building and you’ll immediately notice the captivating, eclectic and inspiring artwork hanging on its walls.  “Art At The Airport”, is a program developed by artist and Truckee resident Carole Sesko to showcase amazing local artistic talent. CalDART (CA Disaster Airlift Response Team) hopes to engage 100+ of California's 261+-ish non-military airports in a massive May 13 all-state disaster exercise!  We hope to find enough excellent pilots to fly missions into your favorite airport!  So we are reaching out to airport managers, disaster-response agencies, as well as pilots, to recruit for participation in the Saturday May 13 all-California Disaster Airlift simulation day.
