Your Truckee Tahoe Airport District is launching a new ParkMobile app-based parking program with different zones and rates for overnight and monthly vehicle parking at KTRK.  The program began Monday, August 21, 2023.  Day use parking remains free. Click post heading for more info.

KTRK may be one small General Aviation Airport, but it is making one big impact when it comes to CO2 reduction.  We are now selling JET-A SAF fuel with a 75% SAF mix, making a big difference in aircraft carbon footprints. Click post heading for the full story.

The Truckee Tahoe Airport was closed for approximately one hour (1-2pm local) on Sunday afternoon August 6th when a C-210 experienced a collapsed nose landing gear while landing on Runway 29.  Airport Ops & Maintenance staff was able to lock the landing gear back into place and towed the aircraft to Sierra Aero for service.  There were no reported injuries. The airport's shorter runway 02/20 is closed this summer for reconstruction through late October, thus the reason for full airport shutdown when Runway 29 was obstructed.

Truckee's very own, Tom Meadows was recently recognized and presented the Phillips 66 Aviation, 2023 Leadership Award for introducing 2,000 Young Eagles to the amazing world of aviation! Click post heading for more info and pics! 

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is updating its Civil Aviation Noise Policy.  The FAA is inviting public comment from interested individuals, entities, and other parties to review four key considerations of its Civil Aviation Noise Policy, in the context of noise metrics and noise thresholds.  Comment on or before July 31, 2023.

The Truckee Tahoe Airport District will close and begin reconstruction (same footprint) of its Runway 02/20 on July 24th thru Oct 27.  The $6.3M project is an FAA funded Airport Improvement Project.  All aircraft traffic will be focused on Runway 11/29. Pilots should check NOTAMS and forecasted wind conditions.  Local neighborhoods may see changes in aircraft traffic patterns during the reconstruction. Airport staff will continue to promote Noise Abatement Procedures and our voluntary Quiet Hours of 10 pm - 7am.  Click post heading for more info.
