Two Truckee Tahoe Airport Air Traffic Controllers that work for Midwest ATC were recently recognized and awarded for their excellence in the Western Pacific Region!  Larry Finney was awarded the Air Traffic Control Tower Manager of the Year!  Todd Domini was awarded the Air Traffic Controller of the Year! July 21 - 22:  Air Show Practice daily 13:00 - 15:00 (TFR's in place)
July 23:  Air Show - Airfield CLOSED 09:00 - 18:00 (TFR in place) 
*No FBO Services (incl self serve fuel) all day.
*Aviation Way CLOSED (street closure)
July 24 -25: Air Show clean up. (Expect increased airfield activity)

A vegetation wildfire is currently active north of KTRK near the TTSA plant.  The airport is CLOSED to clear air space for firefighting efforts.  Air tankers and helicopters are overhead dropping fire retardant.  Temporary evacuation orders are in place for areas in red as of noon Thurs 7/7/22, which do not include the airport. Airport staff will review the need for continued airport closure at 14:30 local.  Click post heading for pictures. Pilots check NOTAMS https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/PilotWeb  *Update, Wildfire contained, NOTAM canceled. Airport reopened to non emergency services aircraft at 14:00 local. Thank you to all the firefighting responders, pilots and airport staff for their quick and efficient response! Truckee PD has a woman in custody suspected of starting the fires.
