Efforts Continue in Aircraft Accident Investigation,  Airport, Nevada County partner to offer services for those affected.
July 30, 2021 – The Truckee Tahoe Airport District along with the Town of Truckee, express their sincere condolences to those affected by the aircraft accident that occurred on Monday, July 26th. Click post heading for full Press Release.

A "Special Meeting" of the TTAD Board of Directors will start at 4:30pm to discuss the aircraft accident on Monday as well as take any public comment.  The Regular monthly Board Meeting of the Truckee Tahoe Airport District will follow.   The meetings will be held via Zoom at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. AIRFIELD CLOSED UNTIL 07:00 AM LOCAL 7.27.2021

Heavy law enforcement, fire, and utility personnel in the area of Reynold Way, Truckee, CA. Initial call received at 1:20 p.m. for a plane crash. The Twin Turbo Jet CHALLENGER 605 aircraft was on approach for landing on Runway 11 at  the Truckee-Tahoe Airport when it impacted heavily treed terrain adjacent to the Truckee-Tahoe Airport along Reynold Way. No structures or persons on the ground were impacted or harmed in the crash. The number of passengers and crew on board is undetermined at this time. Authorities are working with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Aircraft pictured is of a similar type. Kevin Quinn, local aircraft owner, visionary, creator and President of STOL Drag Events LLC, and the founder of the High Sierra Fly-In, is riding high on the wings of the popularity of Short Takeoff and Landing (STOL) aircraft.
