Welcome Aboard Jeff - Director of Aviation
We are proud to welcome Jeff Menasco as Truckee Tahoe Airport’s new Director of Aviation. Originally from Elk Grove, CA, Jeff returns to the west coast after serving 28+ years in the United States Air Force. He’s had a lifelong passion for flying, starting as a Civil Air Patrol cadet throughout high school, earning his Private Pilot License, then becoming an Air Force Pilot. Art at the Airport
Walk into the Truckee Tahoe Airport’s main terminal building and you’ll immediately notice the captivating, eclectic and inspiring artwork hanging on its walls. “Art At The Airport”, is a program developed by artist and Truckee resident Carole Sesko to showcase amazing local artistic talent. The Winter-Spring Art Show (Jan 24 - April 17, 2023) includes works by local artists Susan Bloom, Niobe Burden and Bobbie Johnson. For more info visit: Art at the Airport

Aircraft & Vehicle Parking Rates Increase at KTRK
The Airport District has recently revamped policies and procedures around both aircraft ramp parking, and vehicle overnight and long-term parking programs. Overnight vehicle parking at TTAD is for aviation related purposes only. New market rates and fees reflect fully loaded airport costs to maintain these services. NEW ATIS AT KTRK
Upgrades are underway at KTRK with a new ATIS. The Truckee Tahoe Airport District has performed Supplemental Aviation Weather Reporting Station duties for several decades, providing daily high and low temperature measurements, precipitation and snowfall totals, and hourly weather reports used for flight planning as well as aviation and general weather forecasting. Weather certified ATC staff are taking over the program via a new ATIS. Click post heading for the full story.

Christmas Tree Recycling
RECYCLE YOUR XMAS TREE! The Airport District is again working with the Town of Truckee and Tahoe Truckee Disposal in providing for a community Christmas Tree recycling dumpster. The dumpster is in the same place that it was last year, at the south end of the Rental Car parking lot on Truckee Airport Rd. (directly across from the Fire Station #96). FREE drop off is available through Sunday, Jan 15, 2023. Click post head for more info.

Holiday Schedule
To allow airport staff to enjoy the holidays with family and friends, pilots should plan on the following KTRK reduced service hours. This includes line services, fuel availability, terminal building access and tower closures:
- Sat, Dec 24, Terminal Bldg/FBO Services CLOSE early at 7pm
- Sun, Dec 25, Terminal Bldg/FBO Services/Tower *CLOSED* (XMAS DAY)
The airfield remains open 24/7 365 days a year, but pilots are reminded that there is a voluntary, good-neighbor, NO-FLY curfew between 10 pm and 7 am daily. -
