Summer is coming and its time to wash that winter grime off your aircraft!  The FAA (thru AIP funding), and your Truckee Tahoe Airport are putting $5,000,000 into infrastructure improvement projects around the airfield this summer. Click post heading for the full story and pictures.

Construction has begun on the heliport project at Care Flight operations on the west side of the airfield.  Meyers Earthwork is the contractor on the $382,500 FAA Airport Improvement Project. Vehicle traffic to and from hangar rows Lima, Mike, November and Papa will be diverted to the south side of the warehouse building in front of the Makerspace facility. The top of the TRK air traffic control tower that is! The Airport District Board of Directors and staff would like to thank retiring MidWest ATC Air Traffic Manager Karin Hardiman, for her amazing time at the helm of the TRK tower. If you are a tenant of the Truckee Tahoe Airport District and you, or your business has been financially impacted as a result of the COVID‐19 pandemic, you may request a rent deferral. The request must be submitted by April 30, 2020 for rents owing between March 1, 2020 and April 1, 2020, or within 7 days of the date rent is due for rents owing after April 1, 2020. The Nevada Air Guard "High Rollers" will have a C-130 flyover of area hospitals beginning at noon on Tuesday, 4/28/2020 to recognize the work medical teams and all front-line responders are doing battling COVID-19.  The C-130 is scheduled to fly over Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee at 12:26pm.  Click on the post heading for the route map and more info.

Truckee Tahoe Air Show & Family Festival Messaging for COVID-19 Pandemic. The 2020 Truckee Tahoe Air Show & Family Festival scheduled for Saturday, July 11 is being postponed. The Air Show Committee is considering a mid-September 2020 date, and a decision will be made no later than the end of June. Click post heading for more details.
