Multi-Engine Flight Simulator
KTRK has upgraded its state-of-the-art flight simulator with a new option for MULTI-ENGINE capabilities! Pilots can now practice in a multi-engine piston or turbo prop aircraft such as the Beech Baron G58 and/or a King Air 200, in addition to flight simulation in a single engine Cessna 172, C182, or C206. KTRK Supports Regional Firefighting
Regional firefighting efforts are being staged out of KTRK! Your Truckee Tahoe Airport District always makes airport facilities available for aeronautical operations fighting regional wildfires and other emergencies. Local residents should expect to see and hear potentially round-the-clock helicopter operations out of Truckee Tahoe Airport fighting the Caldor Fire near South Lake Tahoe. Safety Alert for Operators (SAFO)
In a recent Safety Alert for Operators ➤ SAFO 21005, the FAA noted that air traffic control may clear pilots for visual approaches to expedite traffic. This can reduce pilot and controller workload and shorten flight paths to the airport. But “this expediency must be balanced with safety. It is the pilot’s responsibility…to advise ATC as soon as possible if a visual approach is not desired.” Click post heading for more info.

$4M 2021 FAA AIP Completed
KTRK’s $4M FAA Airport Improvement Project (AIP) funded Taxiway A,C,D,E,T and the Runway 11 Run-up construction project is now complete! The two month project wrapped-up ahead of schedule! Agency Partnership Program Reinstated
The Truckee Tahoe Airport District (TTAD) has a history of supporting larger projects that benefit its constituents district-wide through partnerships with local agencies and non-profits. TTAD has partnered with the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation (TTCF), who will now be managing the administrative side of the Agency Partnership process.
