New Flight Procedures Development Program launching this summer!  The Truckee Tahoe Airport District (TTAD) will soon propose new draft flight procedures that seek to maximize pilot safety and efficiency, while reducing impacts on our Truckee Tahoe community.  Click the post heading for more information, including a link the the Flight Procedures website.

At approximately 10:46 AM, a single engine Cirrus SR20, FAA identification number N89423, crashed 1.16 nautical miles south of the airport near Lahontan, Placer County, California. Two occupants were aboard the aircraft at the time of the incident. One pilot was fatally injured and died at the scene. The other pilot occupant was transported approximately 10 minutes after the incident by EMS helicopter to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada and was reported to be in stable condition. "Project Graduation" kicked off their surprise safe and sober graduation festivities at the Truckee Tahoe Airport with just over 100 local Truckee High School 2021 graduates enjoying music, dancing, airplane fly overs and a fireworks show!  After the fireworks the graduates headed to the Riverview Sports Park for more fun night-long celebrations! The Truckee Tahoe Airport District is seeking Request for Proposals (RFPs) from interested parties in exploring options and opportunities to lease airport property for public or private non-aeronautical development.  Approximately 12 acres of District property fronting on Soaring Way is to be considered.  Click on post heading for more information

When you spend time hiking and biking in the Truckee Tahoe area, you will certainly cross plenty of dirt roads. Many help us access backcountry areas for recreation, fire safety management, or planned logging. Others are just left over from past uses and they are causing environmental problems.  The Truckee River Watershed Council and your Truckee Tahoe Airport have partnered in a Waddle Ranch environmental restoration project for 2021 at East Martis Creek.  Click post heading for the full story.

Congratulations go out to Lt. Col.
